Teachers guns down a student at Salaga. According to information gathered, a student of Salaga Senior High School in the East Gonja Municipality, Mohammed Abdul Rauf is currently in a life-threatening situation.

He was alleged to have been gunned down by his teacher one  Sulemana Osman. The incident happened outside the school after the students had closed from an entertainment event on Saturday, December 1, 2018, according to sources.

The victim was earlier on suspended by the school in November for breaking bounds, absenting himself from class and engaging in weed smoking.

The student and his other colleagues went to school although they had been suspended. Their presence was not welcomed so, some students reported the issue to Sulemana Osman, the teacher.

According to the brother of the victim, the teacher upon hearing the news, went home to pick the gun but when he did not see the victim and his friends, he followed up to their home and shot the victim.

“When we reported the issue to the police, they gave us a medical form and we went to Salaga government hospital. My brother has since been referred to Tamale and we are looking for money to go”, he said.

Information gathered from the school has confirmed that the four students had been suspended. The teacher shot the gun after a misunderstanding upon meeting them.
